It is very, very nice to have the same UI on both windows and UNIX.  It
makes writing manuals for environments where some prefer each system
much easier.  The ability to change the look of gtk (i.e. with styles
applied external to the program) also makes it very nice.  If anyone
changes the gui I would hope the current scheme could be kept as an
option.  I, for one, prefer many aspects of GTK over those of Windows,
and I use both Windows and Linux a great deal.
